( 14 ) Day of Kelfes [voice/action]

[Walter has migrated away from the soon-to-be construction site near the west lake, journeying closer to the village and the smaller lake south of it.]

It's just one day. ...It should be fine.

[There's an splash as Walter enters the water, and although you (probably) can't see it, he's performing the Kelfes dance. This is followed by resounding flute music that can be heard over a great distance.]

[It might be difficult to actually see Walter dancing below, but his glowing hair can be seen moving around below the surface. The music continues even as he dances underwater.]

[It's a good few minutes later before the music stops, and the glowing thing in the water gets bigger as he approaches the surface. The light completely disappears as he breaches the surface, and he looks directly at the intruder.]

*steps back a bit as he resurfaces, then looks back at him without fear and slight annoyance at his tone*

Yes, human. What are you? Some kind of mermaid?

[He frowns, noticing the newcomer doesn't seem at all scared or apologetic for being there.]

Mermaid would imply I was a woman. [He doesn't leave the water, though he is thinking about heading for the shore.] Did you have some business here?

I am a person of the water -- the "merpeople" is just another of those myths to try to explain my people ... in my world, at least.

[grumbles quietly, wondering if he's somehow drawing in an audience] It's music. People play music, right?

I know that. Just haven't heard anyone play it underwater. It sounded nice so I came to listen.

Maybe to someone from another world. Only Ferines have blond hair in my world. It makes it obvious who to kill.

They spout about equality, peace, and how my discrimination is without merit. So hearing a human not combating is ... surprising.

...I see. I suppose in a way you are wrong to hate all humans just because of what a few did. But if I were in your position, I would hate them too. They killed your people without reason.
