( 14 ) Day of Kelfes [voice/action]

[Walter has migrated away from the soon-to-be construction site near the west lake, journeying closer to the village and the smaller lake south of it.]

It's just one day. ...It should be fine.

[There's an splash as Walter enters the water, and although you (probably) can't see it, he's performing the Kelfes dance. This is followed by resounding flute music that can be heard over a great distance.]

[Being as how it's broad daylight, there's no way Elda can possibly be there, but she's chillin' out in her house, staying awake to listen to this as opposed to taking ~~another~~ long nap like she normally would on a summer day like this. What with being as old as she is and how much music she's listened to, even through the tune is alien, she's more than able to pick up on it, and as such will likely be humming to it, which may or may not reach Walter if he's somehow got an amazing waterpoof journal ~~like Ruto does~~. Otherwise, she's there in spirit yo]

[Oh, it's totally waterproof. More waterproof than his flute, at least. But he won't be able to say anything she'll understand while he's underwater; there'll just be more ... bubbly sounds than one would think necessary for swimming around.]

[Well, Elda's cool with that. She doesn't get this and doesn't care to, she she's just gunna be listening and humming until it's dark enough that she might be able to go bug him, seeing as how her other plaything is currently pulling a Walter and hiding out in the forest]

[He would be indignant if he'd heard that -- he is not "hiding out" in the forest. He lives there. There's a difference, dammit.]

[Stella's at that same lake, watching the light of Walter's hair as it flits around at the bottom. As for herself, she's not going to risk anything by joining Walter in that dance, but she's about neck deep in the water, simply relaxing. She occasionally moves her arms as if performing an intricate dance with them, and she'll also sink down so that she's submerged and allow her hair to glow, but that's all she's willing to do right now.

When Walter starts to play the flute, however, she shuts her eyes and sings a celebratory song about summer in Relares along with the tune.]

[It's quite awhile later before Walter comes up to the surface, briefly pushing his hair out of his face. He looks to where Stella is seated, still treading water.]

You couldn't convince him? Not surprising.

[Stella's pushing her own hair back with a little smile, though she's already starting to head towards the shore as she speaks to him.]

Senel never liked this holiday back in the village.

[He heads after her, flute still in hand as he swims until he can get some footing underneath him.]

Because he couldn't participate?

[a pause to listen, before she interrupts:]

I didn't think you were musical, Walter.

[There's a ... burbling sound. Uh, talking underwater isn't a good idea.]

... Walter?

[There's the sound of treading water, followed by a slight gasp as Walter breaches the surface.]

You were saying something?

[Not sure when this takes place, but we'll say that Stella and Walter are both still by the lake.] Look who decided to show up.

*is wandering around when she hears the music and goes towards it. She stands on the bank to watch the stranger dance*

[It might be difficult to actually see Walter dancing below, but his glowing hair can be seen moving around below the surface. The music continues even as he dances underwater.]

*peers down into the water, wondering how the person below can hold their breath for so long*

[It's a good few minutes later before the music stops, and the glowing thing in the water gets bigger as he approaches the surface. The light completely disappears as he breaches the surface, and he looks directly at the intruder.]

*skips over to see why there's music and looks down into the water with wide eyes*

[You just might see a blue glowing light below the surface, flitting around quickly even as the flute music continues.]

*watches the light in awe*

[The music eventually stops, and a few seconds later, the light breaches the surface. Walter has to look around the shore for a few moments before noticing the figure.]
